Petition Against Hate Chants
A petition to make chanting about tragedies and death at a football match a criminal offence has been launched in an attempt to prevent further incidents from happening. Twice in the space of four days, Premier League clubs have issued apologies condemning their own fans for such chants, but there is little that can be done to stop them. This petition could go some way to helping eradicating these vile chants from all stadiums. Please sign the petition Here

2022 Champions League Final Report Published
UEFA has published the Report produced by the Independent Review Panel led by Dr. Brandão Rodrigues, which investigated the events surrounding the UEFA Champions League Final played in Paris on 28 May 2022. The report can be found Here and a statement from UEFA Here
Details of the report were leaked on Sky Sports News on Monday 13th February 2023 ahead of the Merseyside Derby which took place later that evening. Liverpool FC were disapointed by the way in which the report was leaked and issued the following statement:
"It’s hugely disappointing that a report of such significance, such importance to football supporters’ lives and future safety, should be leaked and published in this way. It’s been over eight months of work by the independent panel and it is only right and proper to publish the contents of the report to our supporters appropriately.
We will await to receive a copy of the report and digest it thoroughly before making any further comment."
Manchester City Fan Condemns Fellow Supporters for Hate Chants
HSA have received an email from a Manchester City fan who has expressed his disgust of the hate chants aimed at Liverpool fans at the game at Anfield on Sunday 16th October 2022.
As a life-long Manchester City supporter, please can I take this moment to express my sincere apologies for the disgusting, vile behaviour of some of our fans on Sunday. My friends and colleagues who are also City supporters agree 100% with my sentiments - there should never ever be room for such moronic, cowardly and poisonous conduct and I, for one, would be first to endorse a life-long ban on the perpetrators. The tragedy of Hillsborough still sits heavily in my heart - because, even as a Mancunian, I walked the streets of Liverpool that evening witnessing the awful silent return of Liverpool (and fair play, Everton) fans returning from the semi finals. That shocking event could have happened to any club and to any group of supporters. Please - if you are able - convey the sentiments of myself, my City-supporting colleagues and - I sincerely hope - the vast majority of decent, honest City fans everywhere when we pass on our deepest apologies. Football rivalry is fine ... but there are times when the greater family of true football fans should unite ... and never walk alone. I am not expecting a response - nor should anyone feel an obligation to respond - but if a response is deemed appropriate, please use the email rather than phone contact. Thank you.
HSA would like to take the opportunity to say thank you for your comments and understanding, and would hope for a similar response from your club

On Saturday June 26th 2024, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest HSA held a joint meeting at the City Ground in Nottingham. The event was well attended with some new members from both Liverpool and Forest attending their first meetings. Thanks go to Nottingham Forest Football Club for hosting the event and providing refreshments during the day. NFFC Fan Liaison's Will D'Hooghe was in attendance throughout the day and kindly arranged for us to go pitch side and provided us with a tour of the changing rooms towards the end of the day. Also attending was Sarah Julian of BBC Radio West Midlands, who previously worked for BBC Radio Nottingham and has done so much to promote awareness of the struggles of Forest fans that were at Hillsborough in April 1989. Education Is The Way Forward
HSA has an education team made up of Head Teachers and other experienced teachers who have created education packs which can be delivered to both Primary and Secondary schools nationally. Central to the packs are the ideas of Truth v Lies, the role of the Media, Impact, Resilience and Social Justice and use direct personal experience as survivors of the Hillsborough Disaster. Recently, two of our members delivered Assemblies to all year groups at Rainhill High School in Merseyside, and followed these up with a half day Inset session to all teachers and staff. Feedback from the school has been exceptionally positive. HSA is the ONLY organisation providing this type of package, which involves detailed course materials which can be tailored, as necessary, to the specific location/context of a school and to any age group and which are delivered by survivors themselves.
Hate Speech Is A Criminal Offence
In the ongoing battle against Hate Speech and Tragedy Chanting, HSA is pleased to announce that a criminal conviction has been achieved against an individual from Doncaster. The man, a Sheffield Wednesday Fan, made numerous vile comments on Facebook about the Hillsborough Disaster and targeted Liverpool fans, survivors of the disaster and even the families of the 97 that were unlawfully killed at Hillsborough on April 15th 1989. The man pleaded guilty in Doncaster Magistrates Court and on May 31st 2024 was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.
Please remember that if you do see any hate speech relating to Hillsborough or ANY tragedy events, please report this to the relevant platforms and The Police.
